Santa Margherita is very close to Rapallo. You can either walk, take a boat, bus or train. The cheapest way is ofcourse walking, the fastest way is by train.
The harbour and promenade is very pleasant. A variety of cafés and restaurants to choose from and good shopping options. A little quiet compared to Rapallo. Think of Santa Margherita as a Portofino wannabe.
We enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at Ristorante Skipper. Being a beautiful day, warm and sunny with blue skies, we decided to take a table on their floating pontoon overlooking the harbour.
While at Skipper, try their gnocchi with prawn curry sauce paired with a cold beer or a glass of white wine. I didn’t have a hard time clearing my plate. It was simply delicious.
Skipper is also perfect for a romantic lunch or dinner, so don’t hesitate to book a table for two.
