ITALY | PIT STOP IN LIVORNO.

PSX_20180917_151208.jpgWe just came back from the archipelago of La Maddalena in Sardinia. It was one week of sunshine and everything nice. No wonder it is called the Maldives of Italy.PSX_20180917_150727.jpgTo get to La Maddalena we drove to the western coast of Tuscany; the port city of Livorno. Last year when I first visited I fell in love with Livorno’s mediterranean vibe. I can’t deny I even fantasized about living here.

Before getting onboard Grimaldi Lines Ferry we spent a few hours strolling through Piazza Cavour along the charming Fosse Reale canal. Where we basked in the beauty and charm of Livorno’s ancient waterways and monumental buildings that dominate this area.

A quick aperitivo in Piazza Cavour summed up our short visit. We watched the sunset as we sipped our spritz (a classic cocktail in Italy made of white wine or Prosecco, Campari or Aperol) and all agreed that Livorno is always a good idea!PSX_20180917_150904.jpgPSX_20180917_150830.jpgPSX_20180917_150941.jpgPSX_20180917_151011.jpgPSX_20180917_151232.jpgPSX_20180917_151035.jpgPSX_20180917_151101.jpgPSX_20180917_151122.jpg
In no time we were on the road again ready for an overnight ferry to Olbia, Sardinia.
