My name is Laura. I am Kenyan currently based in the Philippines with my family.
I am a Certified Vinyasa Yoga Teacher and a passionate yoga practitioner.
I have been practicing yoga since 2010 and my dream of becoming a yoga teacher came within reach after we moved to the Philippines in 2016. Stars aligned, and I eventually enrolled in the 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Yoga+ Makati, the Philippines in 2017.
I love and share yoga wholeheartedly. Its benefits extend beyond the physical aspect. There is so much I have learnt through yoga poses and learned how to apply these lessons in my life. Mindfulness, patience, living in the moment, aligning thoughts and actions, being humble and true to oneself, allowing myself to take a break from an autopilot way of living and fully tuning in to body and mind.
I hope to continue inspiring and encouraging others to give yoga a chance, start their journey, or explore and evolve in their existing journey.
Vinyasa commonly referred to as “Flow” is a style of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. It can also be translated as “Arranging something in a special way”.
My classes invite yogis of all levels, ages, shapes, and sizes. I often ask practitioners to think of yoga as dancing. Practice with a sense of playfulness, allowing the body to mindfully and ever so gracefully transition through poses with ease. Linking each breath with each movement to give you a balanced experience both physically and mentally. I create a safe space by keeping it slow and seamless. Inviting physical awareness and correct alignment into practice to avoid injuries.
THE ITINERANT YOGI
Traveling for me is a refreshing opportunity to connect with other practitioners from different walks of life, I always look forward to discover new yoga studios around the world, network, and practice with other yoga teachers. It is an enriching experience to teach and to learn, to give and to receive, to flow gracefully together to a sound body and mind.
