Exactly one month ago, I was roaming through the fascinating narrow alleyways of Lamu. It was my first time visiting this part of the Kenyan coast. I wanted to participate in the annual Lamu Yoga Festival that usually takes place in Shela. I have tried different scones recipes and I must say this one is a keeper. It has the right amount of everything. Not too sweet, not too buttery and requires just a handful of ingredients.

Salcedo Village is flourishing in the food scene with its varied lineup of coffee shops, bars, and cute little hole-in-the wall eateries. La Crêperie is yet another addition to one of my favorite places to eat in the neighborhood.
A week ago, I joined a group of friends in a fun and exciting “mini adventure” exploring Masungi Georeserve. I call it a “mini adventure” because you don’t really need to be an experienced hiker to be able to conquer this hike, but if you’re scared of heights you might want to come prepared.
